Reflections on the future of Europe – Jelena Dzankic on How is EU citizenship acquired and lost?

This talk explores the ways in which individuals can acquire and lose EU citizenship, and discusses how these have transformed over the last two decades.

Being a status exclusively linked to Member State nationality, EU citizenship reveals an uneven landscape of mechanisms for obtaining the rights of membership by virtue of birth or naturalisation.  The talk will also explore the variety of ways in which one can cease to be an EU citizen.

Jelena Dzankic’s presentation will be followed by a Roundtable with the other speakers in the series.  This will be followed by a Q&A.
