The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence REBUILD (‘Recovery of
Europe, Budget of the Union: Integration, Law & Democracy’) is
a brand new project set up by the DCU Brexit Institute, funded
under the EU Erasmus+ programme, and led by Professor
Federico Fabbrini. The aim of REBUILD is to examine in depth
the innovative €750bn Next Generation EU (NGEU) Recovery
Fund, put together by the EU institutions and the member states
to respond to the devastating socio-economic consequences of
the Covid-19 pandemic.
Pascal Donohoe, Eurogroup President & Irish Minister of Finance will give the keynote speech. Panels will discuss: Next Generation EU (NGEU) & Europe’s Economic, Monetary and Banking Union; Governance: How does the NGEU work?; Values: What are the Criteria & Principles Shaping NGEU?; Funding: How is NGEU funded and how will EU borrowing
be repaid?; and the Future of the NGEU.
