Only two countries in Europe still use the ‘First Past the Post’ voting system for general elections – the dictatorship in Belarus, and the United Kingdom. This means the UK Parliament does not reflect the voters, the votes of millions of people do not count, and the country is stuck with confrontational politics not fit to respond to the challenges of the 21st Century. Make Votes Matter is the national movement for Proportional Representation, and promotes the adoption of a modern system of PR that makes seats match votes and means all votes count equally.
