DESCRIPTION:C4E would like to welcome you to an online meeting with Sir Graham Watson\, former MEP\, committed European and internationalist. This will be an excellent opportunity to find out more about the EU\, and find out how we can maintain links with Europe\, and what will be effective in our campaign to re-align with and re-join the EU. \nSir Graham Watson is a multilingual British Liberal Democrat politician who served as a Member of the European Parliament for South West England from 1994 to 2014. He held many senior positions within the European Parliament including Chair of the EU Parliament on citizen’s rights\, justice and home affairs and was a co-founder and former Chair of the Climate Parliament\, a global network of legislators committed to accelerating the switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources. \nIn 2015 Sir Graham was appointed by the UK Government to sit on the European Economic and Social Committee\, an advisory body made up of different interest groups\, which advises the European Commission\, the Council and the European Parliament. \nSir Graham is currently a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs.

DESCRIPTION:The music industry has been one of the UK’s major success stories in recent times\, but Brexit threatens this success. \nBrexit has had a major impact on the ability of UK musicians and their essential support staff to continue to perform in the EU and has similarly impeded EU performers wishing to bring their entertainment to the UK. Small and up-and-coming acts have been particularly hard hit\, as they lack the resources to overcome the barriers that have been erected by Brexit. \nWhat can be done? At this webinar we hear from 3 highly respected musicians who have faced these difficulties themselves. Howard Goodall CBE is a BAFTA and EMMY award-winning composer\, Anna Patalong is an award-winning soprano and Julian Azkoul is the Artistic Director of our partners\, the United Strings of Europe.
