SUMMARY:Climate crisis\, pandemic\, war at our borders\, democratic backsliding\, rising socio-economic inequalities: Young people in Europe stand at the centre of the so-called polycrisis. Fear\, distrust\, and a sense of uncertainty are putting a strain on what lies at the core of European integration: an ever-growing sense of togetherness among an increasingly larger citizenry. In these challenging times\, can we find a path to advance a hopeful European project grounded in fairness\, sustainability\, and democratic renewal? SUMMARY:Policy & Practice Seminar: Europe at a Crossroads
DESCRIPTION:What comes next for the EU in terms of security\, cooperation\, and defence? How can the bloc balance greater strategic sovereignty with shifting geopolitical alliances? What’s next for UK-EU relations ten years after the Brexit vote? And how has the rise of far-right populism across member states influenced the development and direction of the Union? Our expert panel\, comprising Alexandra Hall Hall\, Anand Menon\, Jill Rutter\, and Uta Staiger\, and chaired by Michal Ovadek\, will explore these questions and consider what the future may hold for Europe in an increasingly uncertain geopolitical landscape.
